Giant deck chair proposed for Heywood roundabout
FOR: Joel Walton.
AGAINST: John Wedgewood.
FOR: Sharon Sandle.
FOR: Stuart Smale.
Steven Synths Jefferies.
AGAINST: James Morrish.
Here are what some of you thought:
Sharon Sandle: "I would rather see a deckchair than that grotesque monstrosity that's going up in Ilfracombe."
Stuart Smale: "Last time I checked, art was supposed to create an emotion, good or bad. Driving past a giant deckchair should make most people smile. Come on North Devon, where's your imagination?"
John Wedgwood: "What an utterly stupid idea, what a total waste of money, time and resources.
"How about putting some effort into fixing and cleaning up these North Devon towns? Bideford is a scruffy town, as is Westward Ho! What attracts tourists is a pretty simple formula of cleanliness, attractive buildings and environment, good facilities, things to do, etc, etc, not giant novelty statues all over the place. I am struggling to find the words to describe how much this idea just is so wrong."
James Morrish: "Why not just build a 40 foot hypodermic needle there instead? That way we can more truly represent this little brown town."
Joel Walton: "Brilliant idea. Love it, and if you read the story Rob says he's willing to pay for it. Top man for putting some effort and money into raising WWH's profile."
Steven Synths Jefferies: "Like Verity and the stones on Barnstaple roundabout... and this idea... just how do they all relate to there places again? Oh, they don't, lol."
