Bideford

is set to host one of Sainsbury's Sport Relief Miles on Sunday 21st

March, and needs local people to show their support by entering now at

www.sportrelief.com.

The Victoria Park Mile sets off at 11.00am and there will be a

mass warm up delivered by fitness instructors in the morning and lots

more happening throughout the day.

The Sport Relief Weekend is

taking place from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st March and it'll be three

whole days of energy, entertainment and events to help the nation rise

to the challenge! Anybody that would like to show their support by

organising other activities in the park, displays or performances,

please get in touch with Torridge's 5 x 30 Activator Jessica Christie

on 07837 663628.

Jessica said: "The Sainsbury's Sport Relief

Mile in Bideford is here and it's your time to shine. From teeny-tots

with their mums and dads, to super sprinters up against the clock,

there's something for everyone on the big day – whether you do 1, 3 or

6 miles. Best of all, the money you raise by getting sponsored will be

used to transform lives forever. So come on the 21st March, rise to the challenge!"

Torridge's

lead member for Health and Leisure, Councillor Rose Lock said, "As a

Council we are committed to the people of the district for their

health, leisure, sporting activities and enjoyment. Sport Relief is a

great way to get active, raise cash and change lives for the better."

For more information contact Jessica via email jess.christie@torridge.gov.uk or call
