Iain Hindes in the Bideford Triathlon
With an overall time of 1:05:48 in yesterday's event Iain was one of 245 competitors who swam, cycled and ran their way in and around Bideford cheered on by crowds of locals and holidaymakers. The competitors were electronically tagged to time each leg of the race.
The fastest finisher, with a time of 1:04:36 one place ahead of Hindes, was Dominic Sanderson in the MS category, competing for the RAF Tri team.
The event was a huge success and was really well organised. It was a tricky one with the crowds attending the water festival and holiday traffic to dodge along Bideford's Quay and Long Bridge. Hopefully, the success of this year's event will bring an even larger field of competitors next year ... and maybe get the road closed for the race!
