Your Chance to Carry Barry the Baton Through Bideford in Round the Coast Relay
By Hyperlocal | Wednesday, August 25, 2010, 10:44
Coasters GB who dub themselves "Just a bunch of people running round the Great British Coastline ..." are looking for runners to join them on the Bideford leg of their round the coast tour.
Highly influenced by Eddie Izzard's fantastic feat of 43 marathons in
52 days, and one man's innate desire to "do something a bit different",
the question "would it be possible to run a relay around the Coast of
Great Britain?" was posed. Naming their baton "Barry" and setting off from Blackpool Tower on the 9 May 2010 the relay began.
The relay will be reaching Bideford on Sunday 5 September and the runners hope to make it to Lynton the same day, on the way to handing the baton on to the next co-ordinator on the middle of the old Severn crossing on Saturday 11th September.
A further beauty of this event is that YOU can still be part of it. Simply click onto www.coastersgb.co.uk, find where Barry is and contact the team. It is free to take part and open to all abilities. From the website you can also view the wonderful pictures taken as Barry bounds around the coast.

Thanks for posting this. An opportunity to be part of something unique. We've covered over 3,000 miles so far and aim to be back in Blackpool at the end of October.
Cheers
