Have your say: Northam Burrows dog control proposals

Torridge District Council is asking people for their views on plans to introduce a 'Dogs on Leads by Direction Control Order' at Northam Burrows Country Park, Northam, Bideford.
The introduction of the Order follows public consultation that took place last year. The order would apply all year round and would make it an offence not to put your dog or a lead when told to do so by a Council Officer. Officers can tell people to put their dog on a lead, or keep it on a lead, if it is causing, or likely to cause, a problem.
Deputy Leader of the Council Roger Johnson said, "We really do want the public's views on this so I would urge people to take this opportunity to have their say."
Lead Member for the Natural and Built Environment Cllr Gaye Tabor added,"This has been a lengthy but very worthwhile process and it's a chance now for local people to get involved."
Detailed information about the proposals, including copies of the draft Order and the consultation questionnaire, is available on the Council's website at: www.torridge.gov.uk/dogcontrolorders
Or it can be viewed at the Council's offices in Bideford, Torrington and Holsworthy.
The Consultation ends on 15th February 2013 and comments will be reported to the Council prior to any decision on implementation.
