We arrived for our booking and ordered our drinks and food within 5 minutes. 50 minutes later our food had still not arrived. Despite 3 members of staff waiting upstairs in the restaurant, not one checked up or enquired as to why we had no food! The apology when it finally came from the witress who had taken our order, was cursary and confused reasons were given. The manager also apologised offered the drinks we had already consumed "on the house" and that the chef would now prioritise our meal if we stayed!! My husband had already said we would not be paying for the drinks and because this was to be a celebratory meal, the moment had gone and the occassion spoilt. We used to go there quite often. Following this experience and a dodgy steak last time we'll now look for other venues.

What better, than to have a lovely bicycle ride along the Tarka Trail, on a beautiful evening when you get home from work.Even better when you can stop off for a refreshing drink or meal at The Bar in Instow. Its well worth enduring the head on winds that you inevitably face along the way. The staff are always friendly, the food delicious and you can sit outside on the chairs or the wall across the road and enjoy the view.
A refreshing stop for all you cyclists. This pub is situated right next to the Tarka Trail and the sea, and is an ideal spot for any cyclist or walker to wet their whistle, and enjoy the beautiful sunset on a lovely summers evening. They serve food and have regular pub quizes. A nice clean pub, definately worth a visit.
