Its one of the only great Traditional pubs left in Bideford with a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. The real ales are kept in perfect condition a credit to the landlord who does remind me of Al Murry. If in Bideford and want a great pint and a chat with the locals this is the place to go !!!

Having recently visited this place I can say it is expensive, dirty and the person behind the bar unapproachable and more interested in the local gossip than providing a drink. After several minutes of waiting with only 4 other people in the bar all of whom had drinks, i left with no plans of returning again.
I had a few in the Appledore Inn the other day and I would sum it up as a cosy and small town pub, quite basic really. However it was pleasant with a friendly landlady and served Jollyboat Freeboater, Country Life Old Appledore Ale and Bays Gold. All in all not bad.
