globe.
To celebrate here on Bideford People we want to know what your (or your children's) favourite children's book is ... and why!
Leave a comment below to share your favourite children's books.
And if your children are dressing up for the day, why not post some photos in the Bideford People galleries?!
You can use your World Book Day tokens which your children receive at school in Walter Henry's Bookshop in Bideford.

ReportOne of the best books I read to my children together before they a) couldn't bear to be in the same room together and b) discovered the internet was Winter Holiday by Arthur Ransome (Swallows and Amazons author).
It is a fabulous tale of adventures from when parents allowed their children to roam free. The imagery conjured up in the language Ransome uses is magical and every child will be able to identify with at least one of the characters.
Highly recommended to even the youngest of listeners.

ReportOne of my children's favourites is Parcel for Stanley by Ian Whybrow. It's about a rabbit who is a magician. They just love the illustrations by Sally Hobson. Recommended for 3-7 year olds.
