Torridge Announce New System for Notifying Neighbours of Planning Applications

District Council is introducing a new system of communicating local planning
applications to the people most affected by the proposals – the immediate
neighbours.
This
system will include direct notification of planning applications to neighbours
that may be affected by a planning application providing them with the opportunity
to make timely representation prior to the planning application decision.
Cllr Hugo
Barton, Chair of Plans Committee, said, “This is I believe a positive way
forward in ensuring that those affected by potential development will be made
aware of such proposals earlier in the process and be able to comment should
they so wish. We’re actually increasing our communications with our residents –
we are continuing to advertise major and statutory applications in the press, we’ll
continue with site notices and a weekly list of all planning applications can
be found on Torridge District Council’s website.”
