Police Dog Tracks Down Drug Dealer on Tarka Trail in Bideford

 Bideford Police arrested a man on suspicion of drug dealing yesterday after he was seen to run from officers.  At around 2.30pm the man spotted the police and made a run for it.

He was in the Landcross area near to the Tarka Trail when the incident happened.

 

The police officers followed him and called in a dog unit to track the man down when he went into an area of undergrowth.

 

He was detained near to the Iron Bridge by a dog unit and

searched. Officers discovered what is thought to be a quantity of

heroin on him and more nearby.

 

The 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possessing heroin

with intent to supply, interviewed and later released on police bail

while enquiries continue.
