There was an article in the DrAgony Auntie section, ("Help me Dragony Auntie") which I hope I have managed to create a link to ( I am a miserable old codger, not a computer whizz) - http://tinyurl.com/ylhbsg5
The gravel has again been left in the layby at the bottom of Windmill Hill in Instow. This now prevents cars from driving in one end of the layby and out the other - not a problem you may think, however there are now hoards of stupid mothers trying to turn their cars around having dropped their children off, in order to walk up to the local school via the organised walking bus. This is putting children at risk of being run over. (not a bad thing if the children were a little older, however they have not yet reached that stage of being totally obnoxious)
It is also creating a lot of stress with local householders as these inconsiderate mothers are also using the private drives of the houses in the layby to make their terrible fifteen point turns.
I believe that the Highways department were contacted about this problem last year and that the parents were informed that the gravel could not be moved as it would contaminate the gravel. (I think the local dog walkers are making quite a good job of that by themselves)
In my opinion , the Highways Department really should take some responsibility regarding safety of local school children and proceed to move the gravel so that access can be obtained through the layby. They knew about this problem last year and have continued to act in a brainless moronic fashion.
