Mrs Recycle Brings the Three Rs to Torridge Schools

Cathy Karniewicz - aka Mrs Recycle - loves nothing better than talking rubbish! And she's doing it all over Torridge.
-
Mrs Recycle at Clawton Primary School
Part-funded by Torridge District Council, she provides free Waste
Awareness educational presentations to all schools in our area,
including pre-school under 5's.
Mrs Recycle said:
"The
children I meet are wonderfully receptive to the three 'R's' – Reduce,
Reuse, Recycle. It's so important that they grow up with recycling so
that they do it instinctively. Torridge District Council collects
around 900 tonnes of recycling material a month – let's work together
to increase that."
Currently Mrs Recycle is taking the 'Tread
Lightly in Torridge' re-usable bags to schools for the children to take
home. Designed by eleven-year-old Ella Morgan of Westcroft Primary
School, the bags promote the need for increased awareness of our
environmental responsibilities.*
Mrs
Recycle has a timetabled rotation for all the schools in Torridge
District area, however if you are currently covering the environment,
materials or waste or would like an un-scheduled visit - please contact
her on 01271 345806 or Torridge District Council's Waste Management
team on 01237 428734.
