Mother of murdered girl gives evidence

The mother of British teenager Scarlett Keeling – who was found dead on a Goa beach – says she learned of her daughter’s death in a phone call from the girl’s Indian boyfriend.

Fiona MacKeown was giving evidence in an Indian Children’s Court where two men are accused of the manslaughter and rape of Scarlett, 15, in February 2008.

Mrs MacKeown, of Bideford, Devon, said she last saw Scarlett when she left her alone to go on a trip.
