TICKETS for a raffle with a £5,000 top prize are being sold from ice cream vans in North Devon.
Hocking’s ice cream has agreed to sell tickets for the North Devon Hospice Bumper Draw on Saturday.
And the first customer of the day to buy a ticket from each van will win a free ice cream.
Rebecca Worth, from North Devon Hospice’s fundraising team, said: “There are loads of different places in the area to find a Hocking’s van, so there will be plenty of chances to get yourself a free ice cream this Saturday.
“We are really grateful to Hocking’s for supporting us in this way and we hope lots of people will come and find us in each location.”
Helping Rebecca on the day will be local radio personality, James Chapple.
He said: “Everybody loves a Hocking’s ice cream, so even if you’re not quite the first one there you should still come and find us to enjoy a gorgeous ice cream and support North Devon Hospice’s Bumper Draw at the same time.”
The top prize is £5,000 cash and other prizes are a £500 holiday and a Piaggio scooter.
Rebecca and James will be using the scooter, donated by Irelands Motorcycles, to zip around North Devon visiting each of the Hocking’s vans.
Rebecca said: “We would like to thank Irelands Motorcycles, Farm and Cottage Holidays and Blights Motors for being so supportive of this year’s Bumper Draw. Thanks to their generosity, we are hoping to raise over £25,000 which will make a real difference to the lives of thousands of local people that we care for every week.”
Hocking’s ice cream vans can be found at locations including Bideford Quay, Appledore Quay, Torrington Commons, Northam Burrows, Ilfracombe Seafront and Westward Ho! Seafront and Slipway.
