Action in Bideford Pannier Market!

As some of you may know from my previous posts, I am always ranting about how underused the pannier market in Bideford is.
Imagine my excitement when I read in this weeks Gazette that the Bideford pannier market is offering a day of festive fun this Saturday.
Starting at 11am there is going to be loads to do including chefs' tips on how to make Christmas cooking easy!
The day has been organised by the market traders who have decorated the main hall and butchers row
There will be dancing, singing and magic. There is gong to be balloon modelling, face painting and fortune telling!!
I am sooooo excited!!
To finish off the day is Captain Coconut and his pirate crew who will be putting on a family show a 6pm
Just imagine how fit and happy we are all going to be after going to the pannier market to see what's on offer, popping down to see Merlin on the Quayside and then back up to the market again for a bit of culinary advice and then back down for the switch on of the lights and to see santa and the reindeer, then back up the hill again to finish off with Captain Coconut!!
Reckon the kids are going to sleep well on Saturday night!!

I read today they are having problems with their banner for some reason???
When my wife approached the manager to hire a stall to do tarot readings [this was the previous manager 9 yrs ago i should mention] he just about thru her out of the market, actually manhandled her out if his office.......i suspect he had some issues with such occult things. Im glad to see theres now a witchy type of shop there now tho.
What with that and some other incidents we wondered where or when we had moved to!
Im sure the market would make a good music venue but it dos need better transport links , bus,s etc.

ReportIt is great to see that Bideford is going to be using pannier market on Saturday.
However, it would have been better if they had staged this on a different Saturday. People are going to come into the town for the switching on of the Christmas lights and to see Merlin released from his cracker, which means that the actual attendance at the pannier market is going to be diluted.
Why not have an event like this, which is fantastic, when there is nothing else going on in Bideford - that way more people will attend.
