Back to school shopping

I am writing on the Bideford people website because I work in Barnstaple - now I know that probably doesn't make a lot of sense, but let me explain.
Yesterday I saw a record number of really miserable children - the very young displaying it with screams and whines - the older ones with a definite body posture which screams at you in it's own way, stating that they are really not happy being in town shopping for school uniform!
It got me thinkiing how lucky people in Bideford are having Atlantic Village - the little kids can go to that playground place (is it still called Atlantis) as a "reward" once the boring jobs have been done. Whilst the older ones could have a certain degree of freedom and perhaps do the original wreckie on their own, to source what they need and then report back. (Bonus here for big people too because you can arrange to meet at one of the lovely cafes!)
This give both older and younger children an interest in the school shopping.
Asda supply uniform at knock down prices and Hush puppies supply quality shoes, again at a bargain price.
So just spare a thought for those poor Barny people who have to drag their kids kicking and screaming around hot crowded shops (and also the poor people working who have to listen to it all day)
Atlantic Village here I come!
ps do they still run a bus up to Atlantic village from the Quay?
