Keep the Kathleen & May in Bideford

I have just read in the journal that the Kathleen & May is due to sail out of Bideford in the Spring and may not return.

This is so sad, as it is destined to take youngsters on sailing holidays - which could so easily be done down here along the North Devon coast.

Bideford people are proud of the Kathleen & May, just look at the reception she got on her return on the day of the triathlon.

I love her and it only brought her closer to my heart when I was informed that she was renamed the Charlotte Rhodes for her part in the Onedin Line back in the 70's -

As a 'Kathleen' myself i think all Kathleens should stay in Bideford!

It would be a real shame if the Kathleen & May left Bideford. She has become quite an icon for the town.
