Autumn is well and truly here and it is time to get your garden tidied up Bideford People.

I need all the help I can get when it comes to gardening.  I have had fanciful ideas of growing my own veg, cultivating bowers of flowers and nurturing a carpet-like lawn.  Unfortunately I have failed on all counts, mainly due to my anarchic tendencies and 'let nature do it's worst' attitude.

I know there are lots of disciplined gardeners out there and many with years of gardening skills and knowledge they are happy to share.  Bidefordpeople.co.uk is the perfect place for a gardening forum.

If you need a little help why not pose a question in our Gardening Group?  If you are looking for a garden centre to buy your supplies take a look in our (new and improved) business directory.  For help with all the hard work the directory has lots of listings for local gardeners and landscapers.  Remember, when you do experience a local service, leave a review in the bidefordpeople directory.  I always look for a personal recommendation and here is a great place to start.

It's difficult to think about daffodils and primroses when we gaze out at rose hips and blackberries so sometimes a little inspiration is needed.  Bideford Library has a great selection of gardening books so there is no need to go forking out on expensive gardening guides.

To buy your stock and tools there is plenty of choice in Bideford.  Merry Harriers at Woolsery is a great place to start and a beautiful day out to boot.  They also have a great cafe where you can sit and ponder on your Spring garden ideas.

Morrison's in Bideford always has a good seasonal selection of garden products.  With the new bigger store opening this week there will be space for more garden products too!

The Pannier Market in Bideford is always a great place to buy reasonably priced plants for your garden.  A true old fashioned way of buying plants and bulbs from people who have a real interest in what they are selling.

For another lovely day out to get inspiration for your own garden, RHS Rosemoor is just a drive away in Torrington.  As well as the beautiful gardens they have a well-stocked plant centre with plenty of experts on hand to help you out of course!

For help with the heavy work Greg's Garden Service comes highly recommended in the bidefordpeople directory.  It's great to have local services like this recommended by local people.  If it's trees that need tidying then Taw & Torridge Tree Services also come with approval from local customers.

If you run a business in the Bideford area you can place a listing free of charge on bidefordpeople.co.uk.  With our newly upgraded business directory it is even simpler for you to reach potential customers.  Simply click on the 'claim your business' button on the home page in the 'Local Businesses' box or click here to go to the directory.

So enjoy your garden in this mild Autumn weather, prepare to batten down the hatches for another snowy Winter and look forward to a rainbow of colour come Spring time in Bideford!
