Help, The Holidays are Nearly Over, What Can We Do DrAgony Auntie

Well she's had six weeks of holiday so perhaps she should have thought of this earlier - that's the trouble with youngsters today, they expect things to be provided on a plate for them. You are not her entertainments manager.

Luckily for you, you have caught me on a good day, so here are a few suggestions....
Westward Ho! arcades are great if you have a few 2p's hanging around the house, this can be coupled with a "last of the season" swim on the beach (it doesn't matter if it's raining, you're going to get wet anyway)

Walking in the rain isn't actually going to kill you - it can be a whole new experience and you meet a different kind of person when you walk out in the rain (usually totally bonkers, but different!)

The commercial places like the Big Sheep and the Milky Way are a lovely treat for the end of the holidays - (the Big Sheep splash zone has probably come into it's own at the moment)

You could always pretend to your daughter that you are going to home educate her and that the new home term starts NOW - that way you can just go through some old text books and get her to do some sort of weather project. You can break the news to her that she will be returning to school next week, when the sun comes out and we have a lovely heat wave when the parents can sit out in the sun on the beach with their friends and have some peace and quiet without the children!!
