Woolsery Show, the Best of the Countryside at Clovelly Court in North Devon

Wild boar sausages, pony club games and Hockings ice-cream ... just a few of the pleasures on offer today at this year's Woolsery Show at Clovelly Court in North Devon. The traditional country show, which has been running for over a 100 years, is a must in the local farming calendar.

The rain stayed away which meant the visitors didn't as crowds poured in to the picturesque Clovelly Court Estate. Marquees held the entries for the craft, veg and flower competitions as well as tasty local food and drink to sample and buy.
Outside in the three main equine-centric show rings we saw the magnificent heavy horses, driving, ridden and led classes. The pony club games were exciting and entertaining with the sack race my overall favourite!
Further down the field were the sheep and cattle on show. Fabulous to see the quality and variety of breeds. Tucked in a corner was Kevin (@llamakevin) from Ashwood Llamas with his handsome stud male Pepsi and youngster Nazca.
Time for a snack and there was plenty on offer; venison or ostrich burgers, salmon kebabs from Clovelly's own Dan the Fishman and of course, what North Devon day out would be complete without a Hockings ice cream!

ReportWe went to the Woolsery Show for the first time this year. It was great and the variety and abundance of yummy food was really impressive for what I thought wouldn't be much more than a village show!
