So if you fancy trying your hand at some more unusual drawing activities, want to make up your own words, draw how a word sounds or maybe illustrate a piece of text then book your place now. With a range of creative activities exploring drawing and mark making, visitors are encouraged to take part in a variety of guided activities led by a local artist.
Miranda Clarke, Visual Arts Manager, Burton Art Gallery and Museum says: "This is a fun activity for the whole family. Mums, Dads and guardians, young children and their older brothers and sisters, and grandparents too, are all welcome to attend. It's very informal and is about having fun together - and it's free!."
Drawing with Words coincides with the Burton's exhibition Baskin – Illustrations from the Archives and has been organised by the Burton and Heritage Collections Department at the University of Exeter, in association with Devon Family Learning. The exhibition opens on 29th September and continues to 12th November.
To book a place on either the morning or afternoon session, telephone the Burton Art Gallery and Museum on 01237 471455.
