A free all day event in Bideford’s Victoria Park from 11am - 4pm, with fun and excitement for everyone. Highlights include a display of Medieval Jousting on horses at 12 noon and 3pm and a display of Medieval armed Combat at 2pm. Come and view the weaponry up close in the Combat tent before and after the show. The Medieval Free Company will bring everyday Medieval life into the park with the cook, herbalist, taverner, fletcher-archer, miller, scrivener, crossbowman and spinner sharing their skills and knowledge.
Throughout the day The Movie Bus will be screening 'A Tale of Two Rivers' about the Taw and Torridge, including footage of the Bideford Bridge collapse of 1968. Come and meet Bideford500, who are organising the day, to discuss ideas about how we can celebrate Bideford's unique past.
