I've just tried to rate Bideford's Velvet & Vanilla cafe and give is a 5-star rating but the site won't let me cos the business is not already listed VERY ANNOYING

Anyway, not being one to give up, here goes: I had the best Chai Latte steamer I've had since my last yoga trip to India (too long ago now) and will definitely be going back.

Such a sweet cafe and famous for its scones as recommended, I'm told, by our very own Martin Dorey of the BBC's One Man and his Campervan fame!

Great too that the cafe is one of a number of great little local businesses working hard to promote Bideford's First Fridays (next one is June 3rd)

If you do pop in one lunchtime this week, try the homemade coleslaw and see if you can guess the secret ingredient. . . . . . . . my husband got it and has been smugly telling everyone how clever he is ever since!
