Very sadly, Hopps and Chapple broadcast their final programme for Heart from the Barnstaple studios this morning following Suse's last Drivetime yesterday. The last song to be broadcast from Barnstaple was, aptly, Eternal Flame by The Bangles, which launched Lantern Radio back in 1992.
Today also saw the end of local programming at Heart North Devon's sister stations in Torbay, Pltymouth and the South Hams, and Heart Exeter's current presenting team, including former Lantern FM presenter Matt "Spanky" Young also said their goodbyes.
A new sound is coming to Heart as local programmes in Devon transfer to a new studio in Exeter.
From this afternoon, Emma Scott takes over Drivetime across the county and Dave Luck, who many of you may remember as Lantern FM's AA Roadwatch travel presenter, will be looking after Breakfast until 6th September, when the new team of Matt and Caroline from Bristol's Kiss FM take over.
For those already missing Hopps and Chapple, fear not, as they have been allowed to take part in a special show on internet radio station Network North Devon, set up by myself, former Lantern FM presenter Ian Starling following the news of the planned closure of the Barnstaple studios. You can hear them TONIGHT at 9PM here:

I have been told verbally that I will be allowed to put this new station on FM in the Barnstaple area for 28 days later this year, but it is broadcasting now around the world via the link above.
I also recorded an interview for ITV1 Westcountry's local news programme at 6pm tonight
