Dear DrAgony Auntie
I know you are a sensible lady and can help me with this problem.
I am a contented person in general. Like many wives and mothers, so long as my family are happy then I am too. I would rather spend my money on treats for my husband, children and dog than on myself.
Now, though, I am thinking I would really like to buy myself something indulgent. I am finding it difficult as I am normally quite careful with my money. I need to let go and spend a bit and feel frivolous.
What should I spend the money on?

ee that you have already treated your husband to a new vacuum cleaner (see previous post from sandy_bottom) - Have you asked the dog if he/she would like a new pair of shoes (your choice of course!) or have you asked the children if they would like a spa day!!
To be frank with you, it seems to me, Sandy_Bottom that you are already treating yourself under the guise of treating others.

How about buying a sewing set to mend the holes you appear to be developing in those pockets of yours.
If the urge is still around after a few days, treat yourself to some expensive bath salts, some of those chocolates from the local chocolatier, where you chose the ones only you like. Then spend a bit of "me" time pampering yourself.
Hope this helps

Dear Dragony Auntie
Thank you for your reply.
I feel more than ever that I now need to be completely selfish ... so that's you off the Christmas card list.
I must admit that I was a little disappointed with your answer ... I was hoping it would include mention of nights out with half naked men and copious amounts of alcohol. Maybe at my age I should resign myself to a night in with a warm bubble bath.
