From the landshare website:
"A project to develop ways for landowners and new entrants into farming to work in partnership, in order to diversify and foster innovation in our food system.
LandShare is a new social enterprise, founded to create direct links between land, food and people. We aim to re-shape the food supply of Britain and the world."

ReportThis scheme is not just about farming. It's a way to match up would-be growers with people who want to offer up their land for growing vegetables and plants. So, for example, someone who hasn't got enough space to plant vegetables, can advertise on the Channel 4 site mentioned above for a plot. In return, the person who owns the land gets a gardener and a share in the produce. It would be particularly useful for an elderly person who can't cope with a large garden.
Hi there, sorry, been on holiday - I am taking part, have a very large veg plot that takes up far too much time, and no, I'm not elderly (lol) - I have a young couple based in Horns Cross who have taken over a 30' * 15' plot and have started growing veg on it!
Not as keen as I was hoping they would be, and have really only got a third of it going and so a lot of it is going to waste.
If someone wants half - I'm based out at Parkham, am happy to ask them if they want to share it!
And, you're right delilahc it isn't about farming necessarily, but giving someone a chance of just growing stuff if they've a mind!

I recently joined a lovely landshare group in Littleham area. Even though I have my own veggie garden, its lovely to veggie garden with a group and share knowledge. We also have livestock and polytunnels, which obviously I don't have at home. Landshare is definitely the way to go to make new friends, learn new things and produce lots of lovely homegrown produce.
