I have been watching this in antisapation, they tried last year and the thugs took over and spoilt the event.OK. So they have come back with Police protecion to try a simply stupid event that we are not allowed to whitness, because we are locals.. The BBC are taking the P***, and we are the yocal potatoes.... not welcom... My grand children went to try and see the so called ---super stars and were told to come back in 2 hours time.........what for...Ones a Drunk the other a dirty long haired presenter, whats all the fuss about... when their hype has an effect on our children and our grandchildren to watch these out-door events and then stop them from coming anywhere close. Well you make you own minds up, who pays £150 od. pound liecense fee for this s**t... Complain.

ooh you grumpy old sods!
Me and my family and friends spent a lovely afternoon at Bideford station today and stayed to see James May {who had neither long or dirty hair!} accompany the first train into the station - there was a good mix of local people there and loads of kids all having a nice time.
I'm with you regarding the grumpy old sods, both of whom seem to have problems with 'proper' English ( it's manners, not manors and anticipation, not antisapation), I was one of the many local volunteers (I'm Devon born and bred) who worked to try to make the day so enjoyable for so many local people and visitors alike. All along the trail there were hundreds of them out, some of them being families having picnics and such like. Everyone I spoke to seemed to be having a great day in the sunshine which made our job so much more rewarding. Not only were there individuals helping, the local scouts from both towns plus the Bombers BMX club were out in force, the former acting as helpers and the latter as 'gophers' for the three train teams. The welcome at Bideford was fantastic and my kids were there with many others having a wonderful day. So well done and many thanks to all those other volunteers and to those of you who cheered or just came along to watch.

I thought it was a great day and the volunteers (the high-vis people) were very friendly and good at passing on the updates as to where the trains were at any one time. With all of those volunteers you may well get one or two power hungry types, but as they were all giving their time for nothing, I think they should be thanked.
I went from Yelland, towards Fremington and back then to Bideford for the ending and didn't spot any trouble or grumpiness at all. I saw James and Oz at different times and saw the German team coming the other way as well. Great day - much fun - and thank you to the volunteers!
I'm glad the high vis men learnt manors over night!!
I went down on the tarka trail on Saturday and yes every one was having fun I was surprised to see so many of the public on the tarka trail and am now left wondering even more to why the public were frowned upon Friday evening for wanting their regular evening walk along the tarka trail?
Had a lovely run on Sunday along the track literally!!! as it was still all out a hornby collectors dream I tell you!!!
