Flying down stairs

The flying down the stairs dream is a common one in childhood. In fact it was one of my favourites!

Flying dreams are of the type known as 'lucid' dreams. Lucid means aware and these are the kind of dreams in which we are aware we are dreaming. Maybe this is why we always find this dream easy to remember.

Many understand the flying down the stairs dream to represent the sense of achievement we felt when we first negotiated the stairs on our own as young children. I can still remember the sense of pride I had when I dared myself to go down the stairs without holding on to the banisters.

Flying always represents freedom. You are not tied down by any earthly constraints.

So, poised there at the top of the stair, you know you are taking a risk but you launch yourself into the freedom of flying. And it felt good didn't it Phillipa?

Let yourself go (just don't do it from the top of the stairs, especially if you are out on the razz!)
