How was it for you? The Atlantic Watersports Games is getting pelters for costing £225,180 and not attracting enough visitors to the area - Did you have a positive experience or was it a waste of money wash-out?

The games were a nice idea but too fragmented and spread out all over the place rather there being a single point of focus for the action. Also we assumed the competitors were adults not children \ young adults. Unfortunately children in events only attract immediate parents usually, we had visions of grandure, I think international competitors, the best at their events, i.e. we'd expected to see folks who might appear at the Olympics I guess. The simple answer is that the age range of those taking part would not provide any draw for people, therefore was a flop. Had we had world class competitors there and a UK wide TV advertising campaign to back it up, then we might have seen some increase in visitor numbers. But even then, lets not forget most of us haven't got any money, and this is just the sort of event that would get the chop from our budget if we weren't local.
