We recently had some family come down to stay for a week, and this - without a shadow of a doubt, was a great place to take them for a day out. The boat ride out, was not for land lovers. It was a bit choppy but this was all part of the experience when travelling to a beautiful island. Lundy Island is a fantastic place for walkers, but don't expect to walk the whole of the island in one day - if you do, you'll miss out on lots of the interesting places there. There is a camping site, and you can rent some of the cottages too. The village has a lovely, well stocked shop and the pub serves great food.

The Lundy Company, Bideford, Devon
Lundy lies off the coast of North Devon, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Bristol Channel with nothing between it and America, a granite outcrop, three and a half miles long and half a mile wide. In the hubbub of the modern world it is a place apart, peaceful and unspoilt.
Why Should You Visit
It is difficult to pin down why the island has such an effect on people. What is noticeable is visitors' enthusiasm. Whatever it is they are doing on Lundy, they really enjoy it.
It is true that Lundy is different from any other island and that it is in a wonderful part of the country, off the coast of Devon. If you want to relax on holiday and be busy doing nothing, this is the place to be!
Things To Do
Walking
Diving
Climbing
Bird watching
Fishing
Snorkelling
Photography
Painting
People return time and again to the simple pleasures that Lundy affords; the sea is clear, the landscape spectacular and at night, without competition from street lights, it is truly dark and the stars shine with an unfamiliar brilliance.
