Fire crews from Bideford and Appledore attended Bideford Hospital just before 9.00am this morning after its fire alarms activated.
On arrival, crews found no sign of a fire, but there was a smell of burning coming from a light fitting.
After an investigation, the crew found there had been a small fire involving a choke in a fluorescent light fitting. They carried out an inspection.
