Wharf upgrade decision

TORRIDGE District Councillors are due to decide who will develop a Bideford wharf behind closed doors on Monday.
A report has been prepared by council officers and will be presented to the Community and Resources Committee.
The decision will be made on the future of Brunswick Wharf in the closed part of the meeting.
Following the meeting a decision notice will be issued within 48 hours.
Torridge District Council, the owner of the riverside site, has been going through a tendering process this year to decide on a developer to rejuvenate the wharf.
A selection panel, made up of representatives from Bideford Town Council, Torridge District Council and Bideford Chamber of Commerce, has narrowed down the initial proposals to just two and councillors will be asked to choose their preferred option on Monday.
However, councillors may ask for more information meaning the decision will be delayed.

So much for transparent governance! The really interesting stuff that we might actually care about is debated/decided in a 'closed' meeting. I know there will be reasons for this but still...
