Sportmax Move Forwards

The Greeks did an awful lot to contribute towards the formation of 21st Century living. Their advances in art, science, and maths have all gone towards the bank of knowledge that we now possess. However, their influence isn’t just felt in those fields, but it extends to the world of fashion as well. Draped fabrics and dresses with movement are all thanks to a particularly Grecian way of dressing that we simply cannot get enough of.
This year has seen Sportmax dresses in particularly mirroring a typically Grecian way of dressing. Folded fabrics, maxi-dresses, halter necks, and gorgeous creams were all prominent features of the Sportmax Spring/Summer 2012 collection. However, it seems that next years collection will be moving away from the flowing fabrics, towards a more constructed way of thinking.
Whereas this year, the brand chose to hark back to a time gone by with their classically beautiful array of pieces, next year looks set to be a little more futuristic for the little sister of the Italy based fashion giant. The boxy jackets and clear cut lines were made for those city dwellers who walk just about everywhere with a steely determination and absolute purpose.
It seems that this new collection was made with the city resident in mind, as apparently, the shapes and cuts of the line were based upon contemporary architecture. The influence is certainly evident, as the tapered trousers certainly made the already leggy models look like skyscrapers themselves.
Sportmax is a part of the legendary Max Mara fashion house, and their philosophy has always promised to be elegant and unpredictably simple. This new collection is certainly just that, especially when you contrast it with the Spring/Summer collection that we have just enjoyed. Despite the stark differences between the two lines, both certainly work well and are distinctively Sportmax in their own different ways.
The Editeur were huge fans of the Spring/Summer 2012 Sportmax collection and are thrilled that the brand have decided to do something so different for next year. The variety will certainly be a talking point amongst their fashionista customers in the Chester based boutique. The independent shop stock a number of well loved designer clothing names including, Sportmax, Melissa Odabash, Patrizia Pepe, and See By Chloe.
