Flood warning remains in place for Bideford area
The Environment Agency said flooding is expected along riverside areas on the roads from Dolton to Bideford, including New Bridge, Beaford Bridge, Beaford Bridge, Taddiport, Rolle Bridge, Weare Giffard, Annery Kiln, and the A386, A3124 and B3227 at Great Torrington and Taddiport.
Flood waters are moving down the river systems with levels are expected to peak early this afternoon. Heavy rain has now cleared, although some showers could occur throughout the day.
A flood alert remains in place for the Dolton, Great Torrington, Bideford and Westward Ho! As of 9.07am this morning, the Environment Agency's river level gauge had reached flood alert criteria and the river Torridge is continuing to rise slowly. A flood alert means flooding is possible.
