Dog Control Orders for Northam Burrows?

There is still time to have your say on the public consultation on proposed dog control orders at Northam Burrows Country Park.
Torridge District Council is consulting on a proposal to introduce a Dogs on Leads by Direction Order on Northam Burrows which would apply all year round. This would make it an offence for a person in charge of a dog to fail to comply with a direction to put and keep the dog on a lead when directed to do so by an authorised officer of the Council.
Deputy Leader of the Council Roger Johnson said, 'We really do want the public's views on this so I would urge people to take this opportunity to have their say. People have until February 15th to tell us what they think. Please get involved – it's a Country Park and everyone is entitled to respond.'
Detailed information about the proposals, including copies of the draft Order and the consultation questionnaire, is available on the Council's website at:
www.torridge.gov.uk/dogcontrolorders
or can be viewed at the Council's offices in Bideford, Torrington and Holsworthy.
The Consultation ends on 15th February 2013.
Consultation comments will be reported to the Council prior to any decision on implementation.
