Bideford Quay will once again be transformed into a food lover's paradise as the first Farmers' Market of the year comes to town, this Saturday (March 30).
Bideford Farmers' Market are back in town, starting this Saturday.
Producers from across the Torridge district will be displaying their wares riverside from 9am – 2pm on Saturday, 30th March and then throughout the summer on a regular basis.
Fresh fish, meats and vegetables, cheeses and chutneys, homemade baked goodies, herbs and sauces, preserves, plants, bread, ice cream, fudge, fruit and veg, and pickles and pâté are just a few of the locally produced products that will be on offer in the quayside stalls. And customers arriving by car after midday can take advantage of the free parking in the Pill car park so there's plenty of time to enjoy the Market and town centre together.
Local Farmers markets such as these are an important part of reducing food miles and supporting our local producers. This market shows just how fortunate we are in Torridge to have such a great variety and quality to choose from, do pop into Bideford and see for yourself what's on offer.
Bideford Quay Farmers' Market spokesman and local food champion Dan Garnett (Dan the Fishman) said, 'As food producers we are all looking forward to meeting old and new customers at the first market on the quay. Each year we continue to provide a great range of Devon goods to try, local food you can trust.'
Farmers' Markets on Bideford Quay are planned to operate throughout the summer months. For up to date information, or to book a pitch, have a look at www.torridge.gov.uk/bidefordfarmersmarket or contact Kelsey Shortridge on 01237 428743 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
