14 points clear with a game in hand high-flying Bideford Football Club take on third placed Gosport Borough in today's Evo-Stick Southern One South & West League match.

When these two teams last met it ended two apiece, with Bideford coming from a goal down at half-time. The Robins have failed to win just two of their matches since that draw but remain unbeaten since going down 3-1 away at their nearest rivals in the league, Sholing Town FC.

With five games still remaining the title is now Bideford's to lose and Sean Joyce will demand nothing less than 110% from his team.

There are now just two home games of the season remaining, so if you STILL haven't been down to The Kingsley then it's a local derby with Taunton on Easter Monday (the 9th) and then promotion chasing Hungerford on the 21st of April.

Play-off hopefuls Gosport Borough grabbed a vital three points in the Evo-Stik League Southern Division One South & West on Saturday – beating table-toppers Bideford 2-1.

Justin Bennett after 24 minutes and Nathan Kirby 11 minutes later were the scorers for the promotion-chasers at Privett Park in front of a decent crowd of 392.

Sholing kept up their slim chances of lifting the championship when a goal from Lee Wort in the 7th minute gave them a 1-0 victory at Tiverton Town.

Fourth-placed Hungerford Town scored twice in the final 15 minutes through Joe McLellan and Harry Goodger to win 3-1 at Halesowen Town.

Poole Town maintained their play-off challenge when a Dan Cann goal 20 minutes from time gave them a 1-0 victory at Bishops Cleeve, while North Leigh won 1-0 at Yate Town, courtesy of a 55th minute Brian Bowles effort.

Paulton Rovers secured a 3-1 home win over Bridgwater Town with goals from Ben Osman, Lee Bryant and a debut strike from 18-year-old youth team captain Ryan Gay.

Thatcham Town gained revenge for their Red Insure quarter-final defeat to Clevedon Town by beating the Somerset side 3-2.

Thatcham controlled the first half and led through Tom Browne's early goal. Shortly after Clevedon had levelled through Leigh Edwards-Samuels, Paul Taplin headed home Browne's free-kick to make it 2-1.

After conceding a second equaliser to Jonny Moss and surviving a couple of near-misses, the Kingfishers broke and Carl Self's fine goal clinched a deserved three points.

Taunton Town snatched a point from a 1-1 home draw when they scored in the 3rd minute of time added on through Jamie Short after Kyle Tooze had given managerless Mangotsfield United a 26th minute lead.

Wimborne Town, trailing to a 37th minute Anaclet Odhiambo goal at half-time, drew 1-1 at home with Didcot Town, thanks to a Matt Kemble equaliser 16 minutes from time.

Second-bottom Abingdon United shared the points in a goalless home draw with Cinderford Town.
